Outdoor advertising eye sores

As it goes, there aren’t many things that annoy me more than outdoor advertising. They’re big, ugly, in your face, and generally so poorly done they’re not even amusing (which advertising should try to be, if it’s not edgy or thought-provoking). So it was really, really cool to find this site today – www.illegalsigns.ca.

They basically fight against illegal and insightly outdoor ads. Just seems insane to me that Toronto (and other cities) won’t fight companies from making every building into an eye sore – especially when most of the ones cited are historic buildings. Mind you, the city would rather just tear down our historic buildings by the look of things, so I guess that explains a lot…
