All right – I’ve stumbled upon some news that I just had to share.

Heath Ledger – what a Joker
Cinescape is reporting that Heath Ledger has been signed to play The Joker in the next Batman movie, Batman: The Dark Knight. Now, I think Ledger is an awesome actor, but can you actually picture him as the Joker? I mean, it’ll probably work out, but it stretches the imagination just a little bit. It’s kind of like casting Jessica Simpson as the brainiac scientist who changes the world, or Robin Williams as the hunky heartthrob.

Mmmm… Meat Loaf
Perhaps it’s another sign of the apocalypse, but I got a press release yesterday that Meat Loaf is releasing Bat out of Hell III: The Monster is Loose. Now, I’ll shame-facedly admit that I actually liked Meat Loaf, but I honestly wasn’t even sure he was still alive, let alone capable of releasing a new album. I just loved this line though, which summed up his place in the scale of things… “The greatest epic saga in rock history opens its new chapter on October 31, 2006.” That’s right – “epic saga”. Can’t wait to hear that, can you!?

Boy George, it’s hot out here
And finally, Boy George will be forced to pick up garbage this month in New York as part of court-ordered community service. Apparently he called police about a break in, which proved to be false, and the officer who showed up found cocaine in his apartment. Now, I have to tell you – after hearing that $#%&ing annoying “Karma Chameleon” for the last 20 years, I think he got off lucky.
