William Shatner, Stan Lee expected at 16th Fan Expo in Toronto

Take a deep breath and try not to freak out, but in two weeks Toronto is going to play host to some of the people who make geek dreams come true.

We’re talking about the likes of William Shatner, Adam West, David Cronenberg, Julie Newmar, and the one and only Stan “Demigod of Comic Book Superheroes” Lee, who are all set to appear at this year’s 16th annual Fan Expo.

Those are just a few of the stars expected as Fan Expo takes over the Metro Toronto Convention Centre’s North Building from August 27 to 29.

As always, fans will be at the event to meet their idols, and many of them will also be dressed as some of their favorite characters from television, comic books, anime, horror and gaming. At the same time, the convention floor will be packed with collectibles and memorabilia, and fans can take part in workshops, and other special events.

One of those special events includes a sneak peek at Walt Disney Studios’ Tron: Legacy, which also made an appearance at last year’s Fan Expo. Among other events planned for the weekend, Anchor Bay Entertainment will host screenings, plus panels with the stars of Durham County, and I Spit On Your Grave.

Fan Expo kicks off on Friday, August 27 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and then runs 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM on August 28, and 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM on August 29. Single tickets start at $29, or you can buy a pass for the whole weekend for $59. Fans looking to get up close and personal with their favorite stars should also be aware that some events and sessions require special tickets.
