Monique Alexander embraces Showtime reality

By W. Andrew Powell • April 29, 2007 • Category: Babes, Spotlight

Monique AlexanderMonique Alexander may have started her career as a stripper in Sacramento, but today the 24-year-old works for one of the biggest names in the adult film industry – Vivid Entertainment. Not only is she one of the stars in the upcoming remake Debbie Does Dallas… Again, but she also appears in the television reality series of the same name, which appeared on Showtime.

The GATE had the opportunity to ask Monique a few questions, and here’s what she had to say:

How did you go from being a stripper to working in the adult industry?
“I was dancing in a Sacramento club for a couple of months and an agent approached me to model naked. I waited a bit before starting in the adult industry. I wanted to make sure I was ready for it… mentally. If you aren’t ready, it can lead to problems.”

What was it like being on set for Debbie Does Dallas… Again since you were doing scenes for the movie and the reality show at the same time?
“It was hard. It was a ten-day shoot, we were also shooting for the reality show and it all took place during a Los Angeles heat wave. There was a lot of waiting around time but it was also really fun to have the other Vivid Girls gathered together for one shoot, though!”

What’s the reaction been like from people you know and fans who have seen you on the reality show?
“Everyone I know absolutely loves the Debbie Does Dallas… Again reality show… the fans have been extremely supportive and they are always asking for inside details before the next episode in the series airs on Showtime!”

What’s next for you? Do you have something specific you want to do, or someone you’ve been dying to work with?
“I don’t know what the future holds for me. I have been in the business long enough that I tend to go with the flow. I have worked with everyone I ever wished to work with in the industry, including the other Vivid Girls. I love working with Janine (Lindemulder), but our paths don’t often cross.”

When you aren’t working what do you do for fun and what kind of music do you listen to?
“When I am not working I love to go on vacation to all different places. I recently was able to get away and soak up the sun in Hawaii! I love ALL music, but I especially love soul and hip-hop.”
