Finest Casino In Canada Is Now Open

Niagara Fallsview Casino ResortNiagara Falls has long been a favorite destination for end of the school year class trips, for inexpensive honeymoons, and of course as the location of one of the Seven Wonders of the World. But lately it has also become a gaming destination mainly because of Casino Niagara, a large casino that attracts a considerable amount of US dollars from eager gamblers pouring in from across the border. Now, with the official opening of the stunning new Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort, Niagara Falls has taken a huge step towards making Niagara Falls a mini Las Vegas right here in Ontario.

This huge 30-story hotel/casino is every bit as luxurious, classy and exciting as the more exclusive hotels of Las Vegas like the Bellagio or the Mandalay Bay and with its $1 billion price tag, the structure has a fabulous casino containing 150 gaming tables and 3000 slots machines but, again like the more exclusive Las Vegas hotels, the Niagara Fallsview contains a galleria of exclusive shops, and a 15,000 square foot spa and health club, along with an enormous ballroom. The hotel tower features only 368 rooms and suites, which are large and comfortable and afford guests with a truly spectacular view of the falls themselves through large windows. The Niagara Fallsview is a wonderful hotel that also happens to have a first class casino, and it’s not just a flashy casino with a hotel attached for the convenience of the casino patrons. Great care has gone into the design of this hotel to ensure that it measures up to the standards expected by the discriminating traveler.

Aside from the fact that the Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort is a terrific hotel and great casino (and I have frequented my share of both and the Niagara Fallsview is truly impressive) but it also has a larger positive function in that it is another step towards making Niagara Falls, Ontario a world class destination for vacationers the world over. Much as Las Vegas has done over the last several years, Niagara Falls has developed its gaming scene but not at the expense of losing the family oriented traveler. In fact, both aspects of Niagara Falls have been developed with equal attention. On a recent stroll through Niagara Falls I was impressed by how colorful and active and lively the place is – lots of strange museums catering to everything from followers of criminal history to Ripley’s Believe It or Not to a museum catering to believers of alien visitation.

Niagara Fallsview Casino ResortThere are huge stores devoted to MGM and their history (lots of James Bond and Pink Panther stuff on sale currently) and to WWF memorabilia, lots and lots of restaurants ranging from the standard tourist fare to cozy little Italian restaurants. Now, there is also a huge new hotel/casino complex to attract a different, more upscale clientele, which isn’t to say that the Niagara Fallsview is out of reach exclusive – rooms rates begin at $149 per night, which is very reasonable given the size and comfort of the rooms.

So if you are looking for a vacation destination, a weekend getaway, or even a place to visit for the day if distance allows that – Niagara Falls is now an even more attractive place to head with the edition of the spectacular, towering new Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort added to the landscape.
