While it doesn’t take much to improve upon its predecessor, the mediocre, yet competent animated sequel The Angry Birds Movie 2 isn’t anything particularly worth crowing about.

Okay, I am more than a little amused by the concept behind We’re the Millers, and it’s not just because Jennifer Aniston plays a stripper in the film. It’s also because Jason Sudeikis is hilarious.

Arriving this week on store shelves: Aaron Eckhart stars in the big budget alien invasion film, Battle: Los Angeles; two more Harry Potter films arrive in their gleaming Ultimate Editions for years 5 and 6 of the franchise; and a look at Point Break, which lands on Blu-ray, and Hall Pass.
Debuting in theatres this week: Nicolas Cage and Amber Heard star in the gory action adventure Drive Angry; Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis take a week off from their wives in Hall Pass; plus a look at the highly-rated foreign film, Of Gods and Men.
Coming out this week on DVD and Blu-ray: Jay Baruchel and Nicolas Cage star in Disney’s live-action remake of The Sorcerer’s Apprentice; Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz are on the run in Knight And Day; plus a look at Going The Distance, and the Twilight Saga: Eclipse.
Summer is such an uplifting time of year. Between the endless days, and all the joys of being outdoors in the fresh, warm air, it’s a wonderful season. This week I’m also recommending you get as much of that fresh air as possible since there is very little reason to sit down for either of the new home video releases.
New this weekend in theatres: Jude Law stars in the futuristic action adventure, Repo Men; Gerard Butler and Jennifer Aniston buddy up for the romantic comedy, The Bounty Hunter; plus a look at the kid-friendly comedy Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and the IMAX film Hubble 3D.
