Whether you watch for the stars, the music, or the shenanigans, the 2013 MuchMusic Video Awards brought all three together on Sunday night as Psy co-hosted the event and performed his hits "Gangnam Style" and "Gentleman" to the packed crowd at the corner of Queen and John.
Welcome to my live blog of the 2013 MuchMusic Video Awards. Right now it's 6:00 PM, and we're still a solid three hours out from the actual start of the event, but I figured the early-bird gets the worm, so I at least have a good seat for the press room, where all the artists will be coming through for Q&As.
This Sunday, June 16, MuchMusic delivers one of Canada's biggest events as the MuchMusic Video Awards draw in hundreds of fans and celebrities to the iconic corner of Queen and John. This year, presenters, nominees, and performers at the event include Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato, Ed Sheeran, Phillip Phillips, Armin van Buuren, Lucy Hale, Avril Lavigne, Serena Ryder, Brittany Snow, Kunal Nayyar, Naya Rivera, Austin Mahone, and, of course, co-host and international star, Psy.
The twelfth season of Degrassi: The Next Generation premier's on MuchMusic on July 16, and as the series dives into more issues and teen drama, actress Jessica Tyler returns for her fourth season on the long-running show as Jenna Middleton.
The fans were screaming for each and every star Sunday, June 17, as the MuchMusic Video Awards welcomed LMFAO, Katy Perry, Carly Rae Jepsen, Kelly Clarkson, Marianas Trench, Justin Bieber, and lots of other celebrities to the MuchMusic HQ at the corner of Queen and John.
LMFAO, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Nelly Furtado, Carly Rae Jepsen, Flo Rida, Kelly Clarkson and Ed Sheeran: these are just a few of the performers who will be lighting up Queen Street West in Toronto this Sunday, June 17, as the MuchMusic Video Awards bring some of the biggest stars in the world to our doorstep. Earlier this week I sat down with MuchMusic VJs Jesse Giddings and Liz Trinnear to talk about the big show, what they're expecting, and who they think are going to knock fans off their feet.
