This summer my family took a road trip to New Brunswick for a little vacation, visiting with my father, and exploring the province for a few days. It was such a great trip, driving over 3,000 km from Toronto to Saint John, and back again that I had to make a video.

If I had the chance, some day I would love to spend the summer at a cabin or in an RV somewhere. Every year I look forward to summer vacation, and nothing really beats getting out of the city for a few days to one of Ontario’s incredible forests, nestled along a lake somewhere.
Give me the open road, a reliable car, and some time with my family, and I’m a very happy guy, especially when I get to drive to the east coast from a little time away.
Look at where a year took us! At the start of 2017, it seemed like 2016 was going to be hard to top. In 2016 I visited Hong Kong, L.A. for Hamilton Watch’s Behind the Camera Awards, and I had a lot of really incredible interviews. But 2017 topped all of my expectations.
The 2018 Mini Cooper Countryman ALL4 is like nothing else on the road. The Mini Countryman is a joy to drive, and it’s a beautiful car with a comfortable, roomy interior, and a surprising amount of space.
There is an island on the edge of Canada that is unlike anywhere else in this beautiful country, and it’s my new happy place. Fogo Island is just a short ferry ride from Farewell, Newfoundland, but it feels like it’s a world away from anything else that you know. The quiet, serene island is a perfect balance of earth and sea, inhabited by kind, welcoming people, and filled with wonders that are often as simple as they are moving.
Put me in a car, with the open road, and I may be just about the happiest guy around. My family and I went on a road trip, from Toronto to Sault Ste. Marie, and we drove a 2017 Ford Flex on an adventure that included parks, beaches, bugs, science, history, and a lot of fun together in our amazing province. It was a getaway that showed off why road trips can be so much fun, and why Ontario is such an incredible place to live.
Before you head out on the great Canadian family road trip, a few tips might be in order this summer, and Calgarian Michael Palmer–the self-appointed “CEO” of family travel–has you covered.
A great road trip is all about the highway, the company, and the car, and getting behind the wheel of the new Audi SQ5 quattro for a weekend adventure was the perfect escape from the city with all the comforts of a true luxury SUV. Driving the SQ5, it almost doesn’t matter where you’re headed–the vehicle itself is half the adventure.
This week I’m on the road with my wife and little one for a little trip from Toronto down to Washington, D.C., and on the way we passed a farm that had more pumpkins out than I think I’ve ever seen.
