    Review: Venom

by Andrew Parker October 4, 2018
by Andrew Parker October 4, 2018

Marred by a clear, obvious, and marked series of poor decisions throughout the filmmaking process, the standalone, antiheroic Venom movie will disappoint fans of one of Spider-Man’s greatest nemeses to no end, and will leave casual observers of comic book films half-heartedly shrugging in apathy.

    by W. Andrew Powell April 26, 2011
    by W. Andrew Powell April 26, 2011

The rainy days of spring are here, and since it’s a very quiet week for new releases, I thought it was a fine opportunity to count down ten of my favorite rainy day movies. Which may make you wonder–what makes a great rainy day movie? If you ask me, it all comes down to rewatchability, brilliant casting, great writing, and off-the-wall stories.

Film Friday: ‘Zombieland’ & ‘Capitalism: A Love Story’

    by W. Andrew Powell October 2, 2009
    by W. Andrew Powell October 2, 2009

Once again, theatres are jammed with new releases, and the good news is that this is a banner weekend for movies with most of the films getting great early reviews. Coming out this weekend we have the horror/comedy Zombieland, Michael Moore‘s Capitalism: A Love Story, the comedy The Invention Of Lying, Drew Barrymore‘s Whip It, and the re-release of Toy Story and Toy Story 2 back-to-back in 3-D.
