For the last couple of days I’ve been listening to the new Neverending White Lights CD, Act II: The Blood And The Life Eternal, and I’m really, really loving it. Like, a lot.
Daniel Victor, the guy who makes it all happen, brings some really cool musicians together for Act II, but while the contributions are good it’s his style that makes it all work. In a way NWL, especially on this CD, reminds me a bit of classic Cure, or some of those other alternative acts from the late 80s, and that’s a totally good thing.
Only odd track that I wasn’t wild about was the cover of “Miss World” (yep, the Hole/Courtney Love song), but then there’s songs like “The World is Darker” with Auf Der Maur, and “Where We Are” with Rob Dickinson (Catherine Wheel) that just blow me away.
The CD comes out Tuesday (October 30) – so go pick it up. If you enjoyed Act I I’m sure you’re gonna love this one.
