The DVD for director Julie Taymor‘s film Across The Universe arrives tomorrow, but I have to tell you, when I hear the title all I can think of is a great cover from a few years ago.

“Across The Universe” is hardly my favorite Beatles song, but I have to say, Fiona Apple‘s amazing rendition for the film Pleasantville still knocks me out. Taymor’s film has a lot of great moments, but there is hardly anything comparable to Apple’s incredible vocals, not even with help from Bono or Joe Cocker. In fact, if you have a chance to see it, Pleasantville is also a far superior film…
