There is still no official launch date for Fable 2 for the Xbox 360, but I’m starting to get pretty antsy waiting for it. I think it’s safe to bet it will arrive in mid-fall, but at this point it’s pretty hard to say.
For those of you who haven’t been following the news on the game, I just re-read the Gamespot story and from the 2008 Game Developers Conference, and loved this part:
On the other hand, money doesn’t appear to be something that you’ll earn much of as an adventurer, so you might want to give your finances some serious thought before settling down and starting a family. However, you can earn a salary for helping out other players as a henchman. Toward the end of our meeting, [Peter] Molyneux even mentioned that his character had dabbled in real estate and that you’ll have the option to work a regular job in what free time your adventuring allows you. He didn’t want to go into much detail about the professions in Fable 2 just yet, but we’re told that the positions needing to be filled in the gameworld include blacksmith, barman, and assassin.
It is going to be interesting to see how much they have expanded the world in Fable 2, but I have to admit it’s funny thinking of me coming home from work one day… to start working in the game.
Also for fans who have missed this, head over to www.lionhead.com/diaries/ for making-of videos from the game developer, Lionhead. Some awesome stuff in store for this game, and I’m already expecting to give up my offline social life in favour of 5 hours a day playing Fable 2.
