So, as I’ve been saying in my blog – NetFirms blows chunks. I approached them about why my site doesn’t display the front page sometimes, and how they’re forcing me away, and they tried to upsell me to a more expensive server and then told me I’m basically a more high-use customer than most. And yet, I’m not even using a fraction of the bandwidth they offer, I only use about 1/2 of the MySQL tables they offer, and they still can’t/won’t explain why my front page fails to load.
The obvious effect? I want to make sure NO ONE uses them and move as soon as I possibly can. I can’t believe they tricked me out of a year of hosting. It was cheap, and worthless, but still money not worth giving to them.
And it now means I have to work to move the site again. I can’t begin to find words for this, but I hope people read this before they think of using Netfirms. Unless you’re running a tiny little blog, or willing to spend extra on possibly unreliable services, you’ll only get burned in the end.
