Randomness for the end of July

by W. Andrew Powell

There’s a lot of little thoughts going through my head right now so I thought I’d post one entry with all the little bits in a row…

—————————————-

First of all folks, go over to www.revuefilmsociety.org and donate some money to the group that’s trying to save the Revue Cinema in Roncesvalles. Until it was closed recently it had operated continuously since 1912, and if you ask me it should be restored and operated again at any expense. Without this city’s historical landmarks – what’s the city worth?

 —————————————-

Also worth noting that today is the end of July. Yikes. As always, this summer just kind of slipped away from me, but I am excited about The Ex and the Film Fest!

 —————————————-

Headed to go see a screening of Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby tonight and I must say, I can’t believe I’m going. Something hit me a week ago that made me want to see it, and yet, I know it’s going to stink in a way that only a Will Ferrell movie can stink. At least I’ll have something rockin’ to rant about though.

 —————————————-

I’ve actually started making plans for stuff in 2007 too – like the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas in January and the E3 Expo in Los Angeles in May, but I have to admit – these trips are so damned expensive I’m not quite sold yet. I’m going to book what I can, but I’m not going to bet on anything until it actually happens.

 —————————————-

Final thought for the day – happy to mention that I’m working on a photo shoot with Liana K. – co-host of Ed’s Night Party!
