Dave Grohl of The Foo Fighters
Dave Grohl is the man. If you don’t respect him for being part of Nirvana, then surely you have to give the man a little love for The Foo Fighters, one of the best rock-and-or-roll acts to come out of the last two decades.
For that reason alone I picked a Foo Fighters song this week, but I instantly had to feature “The Pretender” because it’s not only a kick ass song, but it’s also a powerfully minimalist music video. All you see in the video is the band in a big, empty hangar, playing in front of a blood red wall, until what looks like a band of riot police show up and charge at Grohl and his cohorts.
Check it out, and have your say about the video in the comment section below.
Each week in Video Hits I feature a new music video to admire, mock, and discuss. From the great to the awful, whether they’re from twenty years or twenty minutes ago, check back for more each week.
For you Canadians out there, the title of this series is totally a tribute to CBC’s original 80s TV series, Video Hits.
