Thank God. American Idol drives me nuts, and I try not to watch all those star wannabes who can’t sing, but all this talk about Sanjaya Malakar drew me in to watch one more time tonight… and that’s when Sanjaya finally got booted off the show. He made it into the top 7, made it past some singers who were clearly better than him, and was probably helped along by people who wanted to sabotage Idol.
Finally, we can get on with our collective lives and forget about this guy, but I will admit – he’s been more entertaining than most of the other performers. And will any winner from this season really be remembered longer than Sanjaya? I sincerely doubt it…
My only question is how many of you voted just to keep him on, even though you thought he sucked?

I voted for him just to muck with the show.
I LOVE Sanjaya! I never watched this mediocre show before and don’t plan to continue watching. All this mean spiritedness is pathetic. Sanjaya’s Star is just going to get brighter and brighter. Success is the best revenge.
Sanjaya made my heart sing and he was the best thing about American Idol this year.
The dumb and clueless reptilian judges and producers should be ashamed at how much they humiliated this bright young man for their depraved fun and profit. What these clueless idiots don’t get is that Sanjaya was the “cool” guy in this, Sanjaya will become a star out of this.
Good riddance to a show that bullies, humiliates and calls contestants “fat” Sanjaya was always a class act and deserved so much better than these British pigs had to offer. Bullying should not be tolerated at school, university campuses so why are these selfish American Idol producers allowed to profit from bullying and humiliating young singers. Are these the values we need to teach our young people. Maybe we should deport these British turds back to their home country.
I won’t deny that he’s a nice guy who gave the show something interesting to talk about – but you can’t deny he’s an awful singer. He the most tone deaf finalist I’ve seen or heard on the show.
He is finally off! Finally. Even though that show is really just a machine to pump out the next “big” popstar it is unfortunate that he was allowed to be on as long as he was. It sorta gave him a false hope that he might make it, I think. When really the majority of people who were voting for him were doing it as an act of rebellion against Idol. Unfortunately because of this many people who should of probably been on the show longer weren’t because people decided to vote for someone with very little talent.
As Regis says, Sanjaya sings very well. Regis likes Sanjaya. And why not?. He has a sweet, warm melodious voice, just not a ‘big’ voice. He’s going to be a big star. This is just the beginning for Sanjaya. His fans number in the thousands, among them J-Lo, Clay Aiken, Tony Bennett, Kelly Clarkson, Diana Ross and many more.
Good luck, Sanjaya!
