TIFF 08: Dina Pugliese & Andrew Powell
Today was the most insane part of my TIFF 08 schedule – I got home after the opening party at the Liberty Grand and went to bed, and then got up and went all day today, running around town for interviews, a press conference, and two red carpets. I’ll have more updates on my time tomorrow, but until then I have to share one of my highlights.
I arrived at Roy Thomson Hall late for The Secret Life of Bees gala red carpet, and after the last star left the area who did I meet but the sweet and lovely Dina Pugliese from Citytv’s Breakfast Television. I watch Dina and Kevin Frankish on BT every morning before I get going and while I’ve seen Dina at other entertainment events, this was my first chance to chat with her.
With a two hour break before the Burn After Reading red carpet, I ended up chatting with Dina for quite a while before she had to run. And despite the fact that I freeze up on camera, she also gave me a little shout out on her video. She also makes a quick appearance in my video blog from the red carpet, which you’ll see tomorrow.
(This photo op made me realize two important things. First off, when in doubt, shave. And secondly, I have a very goofy grin indeed.)
Otherwise, I spent the night chatting with the most excellent gang of photographers, who always have some of the most interesting stories to tell.
