Day 1: I think I’m ready

by W. Andrew Powell

Technically speaking, the press screenings have been going on for ages, and the official TIFF screenings started yesterday, but today marks the official start of the film festival, so we’ll call today Day 1. So far I’ve set up a bunch of interviews, RSVPed for some parties, and I caught the screening for The Wind That Shakes The Barley by director Ken Loach (in preparation for my interview with star Cillian Murphy).

Next I’ve got to post my reviews, and then figure out my schedule for tonight’s list of red carpets and parties. If all goes to plan (which is never guaranteed) I’ll shoot the red carpet for The Wind That Shakes The Barley, then cover the opening night gala for The Journals of Knud Rasmussen, then head to the party for The Pervert’s Guide to Cinema, and then head to the VIP After-Party (assuming I’m VIP enough).

More updates will follow when I can find time to log in! Wish me luck…
