Listen: Catherine McGrath’s “Lost In The Middle”

Catherine McGrath’s “Lost In The Middle” may sound like a pure American slice of Apple pie, but the Northern Ireland-born singer is proving that country music doesn’t just come from Nashville.

The song is just about the most perfect country single I’ve heard in a while, from McGrath’s sweetly flowing vocals, to the love the song shows for the genre itself.

“I put my headphones on, turn the real world off / And I get lost in the middle of a country song.”

“I really wanted to write a song that expresses how country makes me feel,” says Catherine. “Country music is especially good at telling stories, so when you’re having a bad day you can turn to music to take you somewhere else.”

From her debut album, Talk of This Town, “Lost In The Middle” is just one example of a talented, young artist who is headed for even bigger things ahead. To date she’s already earned 12 million streams for her music, on top of sold-out shows around the U.K. and support from Nashville acts like Hunter Hayes.
