Now accepting volunteers for summer 2012

Apply Within

Apply WithinThe GATE is now accepting applications from writers and photographers looking for volunteer experience covering entertainment stories–including film, television, gaming, music, literature, and live theatre–between June and September 2012.

Writers need to be able to meet deadlines, familiar with The GATE’s general themes, and topics, and comfortable writing news, features, interviews, reviews, or news briefs. Photographers should have experience covering public gatherings, concerts, or general events, and need to have their own equipment.

Selected volunteers will receive assignments that will be suited to the time that they are available to volunteer, in the field that most interests them, based on available opportunities. The GATE will also endeavour to provide suggestions and tips that will help volunteers further their professional interests and careers. Ongoing opportunities may be available to volunteers who exceed expectations, in addition to the possibility for some paid work over time.

Candidates wishing to apply should submit samples of their work using the form below. The deadline for submitting is Friday, June 29, 2012 at 11:59 AM (ET). Please note, you must be at least 19-years-old to volunteer.

Unfortunately, due to time constraints, only those candidates who are selected will be contacted.

Thanks for your time.

Thanks to everyone who entered. Entries are no longer being accepted.
