9 cocktail recipes for any get together

by W. Andrew Powell

A great get-together requires tasty treats and delicious drinks. While beer and wine are fine, there is nothing like a great cocktail, so I’ve put together a few of my favourites for your next gathering.

Featured spirits include Baileys, Tanqueray Flor De Sevilla, Captain Morgan, Bulleit Bourbon, Wheatley Vodka, Crystal Head Aurora Vodka, Gordon’s Original G&T, Smirnoff No. 21 Vodka, and Beefeater Pink.

Baileys Coldbrew

Baileys Coldbrew

Baileys Coldbrew is satisfying, easy-to-make, and one of my favourite summer cocktails because it’s a bit zippy with a jolt of caffeine.

Ingredients:

  • 3.5 OZ. Baileys Original Irish Cream Liquor
  • 3.5 oz Cold brew coffee
  • Ice

Recipe:

Add all the ingredients to a Collins glass and stir.

Tanqueray Flor de Sevilla Spritz

Tanqueray Flor de Sevilla Spritz

The Tanqueray Flor de Sevilla spritz is one of the most delicious, refreshing cocktails that feels like a taste of Europe. The spirit balances four botanicals perfectly–juniper, coriander, angelica and liquorice–making it delicious for a range of cocktails.

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz. Tanqueray Flor De Sevilla,
  • 3 0z. Prosecco
  • 1 oz. Soda water
  • Orange wheel garnish

Recipe:

Add Tanqueray Flor De Sevilla, soda water, and prosecco to a slim wine glass. Add ice and garnish with an orange wheel.

Wheatley Vodka Moscow Mule

Wheatley Vodka Moscow Mule

Wheatley Vodka is crisp and clean, with a hint of vanilla, adding a unique flavour profile to any cocktail. The vodka is especially delicious though in a Moscow Mule, one of the easiest, most enjoyable cocktails ever for any get together.

Ingredients:

  • 1.5oz Wheatley Vodka
  • 200 ml Fever-Tree premium ginger beer
  • lime wedges

Recipe:

Pour vodka in a copper mug with ice and top with Fever-Tree ginger beer and lime. Stir and enjoy.

Bulleit Mint Julep

Bulleit Mint Julep

Bulleit Bourbon is delicious in an old fashioned, but it’s especially phenomenal in a Bulleit Mint Julep. The bold, spicy bourbon is clean, smooth, and yet bold, and spicy, making for a perfect Mint Julep.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Bulleit Bourbon
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup
  • 10 mint leaves
  • Crushed ice
  • Mint sprig
  • Julep cup or Rocks

Recipe:

Combine all ingredients in a julep cup, add crushed ice, and stir with a bar spoon. Then add more crushed ice, and garnish with a mint sprig.

Beefeater Pink Mimosa

Ready for a fresh take on the classic mimosa? Try it with Beefeater Pink gin for a little sweet, pink flavour.

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Beefeater Pink
  • 1 oz mixed berry puree
  • 3 oz sparkling wine

Recipe:

Shake gin and puree with ice. Add sparkling wine to mixing glass. Stir and strain into a flute glass. Garnish with orange twist and a fresh strawberry.

Crystal Head Aurora Rose-Coloured Glasses

Crystal Head Aurora Vodka was crafted differently, using English wheat for a drier, bolder, and spicier vodka in a gorgeous, iridescent metallized finish bottle.

This simple, satisfying cocktail is reminiscent of a gin and tonic thanks to the robust flavours of the tonic and vodka.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz Crystal Head Aurora Vodka
  • 7 oz Fever-Tree Aromatic Tonic
  • Lime wedge

Recipe

Pour Crystal Head Aurora Vodka and tonic in a tumbler with ice. Garnish with a wedge of lime.

Captain Morgan Peach Mule

Smooth and medium bodied, Captain Morgan Spiced Rum offers subtle notes of vanilla and caramel to give classic rum cocktails a distinctive, flavourful finish.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum
  • 1 slice jalapeno, plus 1 slice for garnish
  • 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz peach nectar
  • 3 oz ginger ale
  • 1 peach slice, for garnish

Recipe:

In a Captain Morgan tankard glass, muddle the Jalapeno slice and lime juice. Add the spiced rum, peach nectar and ginger ale, then stir to combine.

Pacific Rim Caesar

Ready for a fresh take on the classic Canadian Caesar? Try it with Smirnoff No. 21 Vodka with pickle brine, soy sauce, and ginger powder.

Ingredients:
