Chainsaw carving lessons with Saw Dogs artist Paul Frenette

Chainsaw artists get the spotlight in OLN’s new 10-part reality series, Saw Dogs, which follows veteran carver Steve Blanchard and his staff as they create memorable art out of trees, stumps, and all manner of wood.

Each episode has Steve and his staff, not to mention a few guest artists, taking on short deadlines to complete commissions that push everyone’s skills, and usually their tempers too. The artists will have to work together to meet the big deadline each week, but as egos clash that can sometimes be even more difficult than dealing with their dangerous tools.

Earlier this week, I had a chance to meet with Saw Dogs guest star Paul Frenette, who chatted about the series, and gave me a lesson in wielding a chainsaw as a precise artistic tool.

Saw Dogs airs Tuesdays at 9:00 PM (ET/PT). Find out more about the series on OLN.ca.
