Nat Faxon has a lot going these days. He plays Ben in the new Citytv series Ben and Kate, opposite Dakota Johnson, and he recently finished production directing his first film, The Way, Way Back. What some people don’t know though is that he’s also an Academy Award-winning screenwriter, earning the Oscar for The Descendants, which he co-wrote with director Alexander Payne, and Community star Jim Rash.

Last month, Faxon stopped by Toronto to discuss Ben and Kate, and I had the opportunity to interview him about the series, what the Oscar has meant for his career so far, and what makes Ben fun to play on screen.

Watch Ben and Kate on Citytv tonight, November 27, with the season finale airing next week on December 4.
