Feeling festive at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel

The spirit of the holiday season is thriving in Toronto this year, and it’s staying all month long at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel.

From a festive pop-up bar, gingerbread house, Christmas tree, to special packages, and you can even order your turkey from the Fairmont Royal York, there’s a lot of holiday cheer to enjoy this year.

Dust off your ugly Christmas sweater and head down to the Thirsty Elf, a holiday pop-up bar that features holiday-themed cocktails by genius mixologist Rus Yessenov, and some of the cocktails even arrive at your table in Christmas ornaments. The bar, which was once known as Toronto’s smallest bar, is decked out in tacky festive decor and offers 30 seats.

The Thirsty Elf is on the mezzanine level of the Royal York Hotel, at the top of the escalators. The special pop-up bar runs on weekends from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, December 5, 6, and 7; December 12, 13, and 14; and December 19, 20, and 21.

Seven cocktails are available, priced between $18 and $20, as well as holiday bar snacks.

Then, there’s the Royal York’s Christmas tree and gingerbread house. Celebrating Fairmont Gold, the tree is decked out in gold too, while the gingerbread house features 300 lbs of candy, 4,500 baked bricks, and 250 culinary hours to make all the goodies for it.

Putting all that gingerbread and candy together took three weeks of work, and required three carpenters, two painters, and two electricians. It’s a sight to behold this December, to say the least.

And if you want to take the work out of Christmas, why not have the Fairmont Royal York create the perfect meal, featuring turkey, stuffing, potatoes, honey glazed vegetables, and dessert, all prepared by executive chef, jW Foster, and his award-winning culinary team.

Packages are $245 for four people, or $395 for eight people, and can be picked up on December 24 or 25. You can find out more and place your order at ryhturkeytogo.com.

If you’re looking for the perfect staycation or holiday getaway, you can also book special packages at the Fairmont, including a Toronto Christmas Market package that includes accommodations, passes to the market, as well as vouchers for the market’s Ferris wheel, hot chocolate, and breakfast at the hotel.

Finally, for a true luxury vacation, the Ultimate Royal Holiday Experience is the like no other stay in Toronto. The luxury package includes a two-night stay in the Royal York Suite, which is decorated for the season, with numerous amenities, dinner at Reign, afternoon tea, a dedicated Gold Concierge Team to assist you, monogrammed robes, and so much more.

The Ultimate Royal Holiday Experience is available for $50,000 for two nights.
