The VIP tour experience with Canadian Club

After two days of learning about whisky–and drinking some too–I have to say a big thank-you to Canadian Club and their Brand Centre in Walkerville for hosting me for a really interesting and exceptional little adventure. The trip was a history lesson and a connoisseurs field trip rolled up into one, featuring Canadian Club’s whiskys and some great local treats, and I also can’t help but thank Canadian Club’s Global Brand Ambassador Tish Harcus for passing on some of her extensive knowledge about the company and how they make their delicious whisky.

Boutique bliss at Toronto’s Windsor Arms Hotel

On a quiet little side street between two of the busiest streets in the country sits one of the gems of the hotel world–not just in Toronto, or even this country, but one of the gems of the entire hotel world. This is not just a personal opinion, while certainly being that, it is also an opinion backed up by Conde Naste Traveler Magazine which named the Windsor Arms Hotel the third best boutique hotel in the world (out of almost 300 boutique hotels scrutinized worldwide).

Taking flight: Falconry at Wye Marsh

Hawks may not be that rare in Ontario, but few people see more than just a glimpse of them, and even fewer will have the opportunity to see these beautiful birds up close, or watch as one gracefully soars through the air. For those interested in falconry though the Wye Marsh is giving hopeful enthusiasts some personal time with a trainer and his birds as part of their new “Introduction to Falconry” workshops that are currently being offered on select Saturdays (including Saturday, October 13th, 2007), and it’s an opportunity that shouldn’t be missed.
