Halloween is one of my favorite times of year. Pumpkins! Candy! Costumes! What’s not to love? If you’re a Halloween fan, and you happen to be a fan of anything Disney, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World is a must-see event, and it’s on now until November 1.
Montreal. A city so vibrant, full of life and celebrating it’s 375th birthday, you won’t have a moment to spare checking out the sites, the exhibits, and what the city has to offer when it comes to food.
Put me in a car, with the open road, and I may be just about the happiest guy around. My family and I went on a road trip, from Toronto to Sault Ste. Marie, and we drove a 2017 Ford Flex on an adventure that included parks, beaches, bugs, science, history, and a lot of fun together in our amazing province. It was a getaway that showed off why road trips can be so much fun, and why Ontario is such an incredible place to live.
Thank-you, 2016. Yes, it was a tough year, both personally and as a fan of popular culture and its icons, but it was also one of The GATE’s best years. It’s worth taking a moment now at the end of 2016 to look back on some of the awesome that came our way over the last 365 days.
Historic hotels are doorways into a city, where you not only peer into the past and future, but live a part of the story the city has to share. Across Canada, some of the most incredible stories and spaces started with the stunning Canadian Pacific Railway hotels that were opened in the years following Confederation, like Regina’s Hotel Saskatchewan.
Often my discoveries of cool new hotels come as a part of a larger or much different purpose for my actually being there. Sometimes a cool interview with an actor or director brings me to their favourite hotels which then gives me the opportunity to explore and develop an appreciation for that hotel independently and sometimes it is a special occasion that is either specific to the hotel or specifically related to the hotel.
There are dozens of great destinations within a short drive of Toronto, and one of the best, whether you go in summer, spring, fall or winter, is Collingwood and the Blue Mountains. During a recent trip in the Ford Flex Limited, my family and I had a chance to escape and really take the beautiful area in while testing out the vehicle.
The third season of the FIA Formula E Championship kicked off in Hong Kong earlier this month with the HKT Hong Kong ePrix, bringing the racing series to the iconic island waterfront, and featuring ten teams, 20 drivers, and thousands of racing fans. The Formula E is turning heads around the globe, exciting fans, and making it clear that electric cars are finally a reality that could help turn driving green.
Some things are essential, and for me and my family, travel is one of those necessities that makes our hearts warm, and our minds happy. Even my daughter, who is only 3-years-old has said how much she likes flying and staying at hotels.
Hong Kong. For nearly a week I’ve been exploring the city, and taking in the FIA Formula E Hong Kong ePrix, and it’s been a truly incredible place to discover, and there’s no simple way to sum up the experience.
