Focused on raising awareness about the quality and high standards of selected European wines and fresh fruits, “The Charming Taste of Europe” campaign employs a variety of promotional activities aimed at introducing audiences in the United States and Canada to Europe’s remarkable products.

“The Charming Taste of Europe” project is promoted by the Consortium for the Protection of Wines of Abruzzo (Italy), the Association of Imathias’s Agricultural Cooperatives (Greece), and the Union of Sweet Bordeaux Wines (France). These European agricultural products, famous around the world for their outstanding characteristics, are promoted with initiatives and events dedicated to consumers, journalists and professionals. Through the superb high quality Italian wines, the juicy kiwis from Greece, and the melodious French golden wines produced with the artistry of agricultural traditions, the campaign awakens senses and highlights a new culinary consciousness by connecting food, cultures, and territories and will undoubtedly bring European charm into the lives of many.

Once again this year, “The Charming Taste of Europe” joins as a key sponsor of the European Film Festival (EUFF) in Canada, which takes place from November to December, featuring both in-person screenings from November 14–28 and online access from December 1–17. This hybrid festival format allows audiences across Canada to enjoy select films online, with a number of films available for digital viewing, expanding access to contemporary European cinema nationwide.

The EUFF, organized in collaboration with EU Consulates and Cultural Institutes, brings together an impressive lineup of films from across the European Union. The selection includes innovative and engaging works by both emerging talents and established filmmakers, with European filmmakers visiting Canada to present their films and engage with Canadian audiences in person. The wide selection of films present a captivating lineup of diverse films, from emerging talents to renowned masters. Experience the thrill of drama, comedy, action, and documentary. “The Charming Taste of Europe” will host a wine tasting event at Spadina Theatre on November 20th from 7:30 to 8:15 p.m., just before the screening of the Italian film “A Hundred Sundays”. As a Major Sponsor of the European Union Film Festival (EUFF), “The Charming Taste of Europe” will be prominently featured across festival materials and highlighted on social media. Through its engagement with the audience of the EUFF, the campaign reinforces its commitment to European cultural initiatives in Canada, engaging a key Canadian audience.

The 2024 festival will once again highlight fresh, contemporary voices and showcase recent works from across the EU, spanning genres such as comedies, historical dramas, romances and documentaries.

In partnership with the Canadian Film Institute in Ottawa, the European Union Film Festival in Toronto, EU member states, and the EU Delegation to Canada, this year’s EUFF will feature in-theater screenings at Toronto’s Spadina Theatre, showcasing films from all 27 EU countries. Celebrating its 20th anniversary and third year in a hybrid format, the 2024 EUFF also includes a special screening dedicated to supporting Ukraine, a meaningful tradition established last year.
