    Figures (137 Avenue Road) is officially one of my favorite new restaurants in Toronto, and it’s about more than just the food, the style, or the very fun comic book theme. Figures is a great restaurant because they do all of those things so well, and they do it all with heart, and excellent attention to every detail.

    Spring has definitely sprung in Toronto, and that means it’s time to start getting back out on the patios, and trying some fresh, new seasonal-themed food and drinks. In that spirit, the Bier Markt has launched their Biers of Spring menu, which pairs some of the best food and beer together to help inspire your taste buds.

    Living in the ever changing, exciting world of the Fairmont Royal York Hotel reminded me that, as familiar with a place you think you may be, it can and does show you constantly that there is more to the place than meets the eye.

    Such was confirmed for me recently on a wonderful evening that begin on the roof of the hotel and ended with a splendid dinner with the hours in between being filled with great company, great food, and lots of hotel talk.

    In a city the size of Glasgow it would be easy to get lost among the restaurants. There are dozens of famous eateries in the city and picking one among the crowd can be a bit daunting. It becomes much easier however when you discover a chef like Michael Caines.
