Actor Aaron Moten Talks About Fallout Season Two

by Andrew Parker

The smash hit series Fallout (based on the popular video game franchise of the same name) is back for its second season on Prime Video, and along with it is returning lead performer Aaron Moten, who once again steps into the shoes and heavily fortified body armour of one of the show’s core protagonists, Maximus.

The show picks up where the first season left off, with a trio of unlikely compatriots attempt to navigate a corrupted, seemingly hopeless post apocalyptic wasteland. But while former vault dweller, Lucy MacLean (Ella Purnell) and actor turned undead mutant Cooper Howard (Walton Goggins), a.k.a. The Ghoul, are off trying to track down her turncoat, traitorous father (Kyle MacLachlan) across the desert and into what’s left of Las Vegas, Maximus is settling into a newfound role of importance with The Brotherhood of Steel, a paramilitary organization that tries to assert its dominance over the wastelands through the use of some impressive machinery. The second season of Fallout finds Maximus further questioning if The Brotherhood is the right place for him, and if the group is making the world a better or worse place.

A classically trained actor from Austin, Texas who graduated from Julliard and currently lives in Los Angeles with his family (after living for several years in his wife’s home country of Iceland), Aaron Moten has also appeared in series like The Night Of and Mozart in the Jungle, as well as films like Emancipation and Father Stu

We caught up with Aaron Moten earlier this month during the London, England stop of the show’s global junket to discuss the evolution of Maximus as a character, the sometimes chaotic nature of being a member of The Brotherhood, and how each of the show’s main protagonists brings their own brand of world weary wisdom to the project.

The first episode of Fallout Season Two is now available to stream on Prime Video, with new instalments premiering every Wednesday until February 4, 2026.
