S Hotel Jamaica is a luxe oasis in Montego Bay

Sunset at the S Hotel Jamaica in Montego Bay

Sunsets in the Caribbean are one of the most spectacular shows, especially at Doctor’s Cave Beach in Jamaica’s Montego Bay. Orange, gold, and red burns across the sky, as the surf splashes along the beautiful, sandy shore.

For four days I soaked up those sunsets at S Hotel Jamaica, and every evening was like a dream. The hotel has spectacular spots to watch the sun go down, while you sip on a cocktail or some bubbly, and the vibe is totally perfect.

What sets S Hotel apart is not just the views, or the perfect, luxe style, but also the boutique, all-inclusive service that goes above and beyond. Montego Bay has a number of wonderful hotels, but S Hotel is one of the few boutique properties with a real Jamaican style, spirit, and connection to the country.

You’ll see that Jamaican style and connections in the art on the walls, the historic statues on each floor of major people from the country, and even in the menus at the hotel’s restaurants and bars.

And because the hotel’s pool and rooms face west, the S Hotel offers the perfect spot to watch those epic sunsets every night. There are so many places where you can sit and watch the sunsets too. The beach offers a fantastic view, of course, or you can sit by the stylish pool, grab a drink at the rooftop patio, have dinner at Roots Rock on the sixth floor, or step out on your balcony at one of the hotel’s many suites.

While I was there, I livestreamed my last sunset, because it was so incredible, and you can watch it below if you’re curious.

S Hotel is really a gem in Jamaica. It’s beautiful and sophisticated, with excellent attention to all the details. The staff are so helpful, welcoming, and relaxed, they made the trip a real treat, and as an all-inclusive, I was really impressed with the food and the cocktails.

The hotel has five different restaurants to pick from, including three à la carte restaurants, plus a 24-hour cafe serving treats, coffee, and snacks. And the staff at the three bars make some really great drinks, like the iconic Bob Marley, or they can whip up original cocktails that really impressed me.

If you’re looking for a great spot to escape in Montego Bay, I highly recommend checking out S Hotel Jamaica. I’ll have a full review coming up soon, with a video on the property as well. If you want to know anything about the hotel until then, feel free to ask any questions in the comments below, and subscribe to my travel YouTube channel so that you’ll be notified when the video premieres.
