What’s happening: NXNE Day 1

by W. Andrew Powell
Yonge Dundas Square

Toronto’s North By Northeast festival–better known as NXNE–starts today with music, movies, comedians, and art, not to mention parties, and an industry conference. It’s a big festival, and this year the event celebrates 19 years, not to mention 1000 bands, 30 films, 65 conference sessions, 200 comedians, and 35 artists.

To give you a little guidance this week, here’s NXNE’s list of events you can find across the city today. Stay tuned each day for updates throughout the festival, not to mention The GATE’s coverage from concerts and events. NXNE’s music programming kicks off on Wednesday, June 12, while the film programming starts on Thursday, June 13.

Want to stay on top of all the events at NXNE? It’s going to be hard, but the NXNE app could help, and it includes all the programming information, a map, and NXNE Radio. Get the app by visit www.oneevent-oneapp.com/nxne-2013/.
