Listen Now: AJ Smith’s “Misfits”

AJ Smith

Get this single on the radio! AJ Smith‘s “Misfits” is a hand-clapping, foot-tapping good time, and it probably didn’t hurt that the song was written and produced by Smith and The Elev3n, the producing/songwriting team who have been working with Sean Kingston, Meghan Trainor, and The Wanted.

The radio-ready Indie pop single was released last week, and it’s so addictive that I added the track to my January 2018 Fresh Indies playlist.

“Misfits” runs on a smooth beat, with Smith’s bright vocals over a killer guitar and drum beat. The track is juicy, and bubbly, with a catchy rhythm, and even more importantly, catchy lyrics. The track is better than a lot of songs that I hear on the radio on a daily basis, and you can support Smith by giving the single lots of listens on Spotify.

Smith is a Denver-born artist with degrees in songwriting and film scoring from New York University, and he’s learned from some of the best, including Glenn Frey, Roseanne Cash, Phil Galdston, and Barry Eastmond. He plays ten instruments, opened for the likes of The Eagles and Lindsey Stirling, and performed off-Broadway and in the West End with the production Close to You: Burt Bacharach Reimagined.

He is quite simply an artist that I can’t wait to hear what he works on next. So follow AJ Smith on YouTube to catch some of his recent videos (his recent single “Brooklyn Nights” is a definite favorite), and follow him on Twitter and Facebook.
