Listen: Savoir Adore’s “Black and Blue”

by W. Andrew Powell
Savoir Adore

Savoir Adore’s “Black and Blue” is a charming indie pop single with the perfect hooks, beautiful vocals, and a chorus that’s been stuck in my head all night.

In French, the band’s name means “to know love”, which they chose for the romantic mood it sets, and it’s easy to hear why in a song like “Black and Blue”. The lyrics are sweetly romantic, with a warm heart, and maybe just a touch of sadness and longing in the delivery, which sets the perfect tone.

Savoir Adore toured extensively in the past few years, spending most of 2016 on the road, and playing headline shows, plus support for X Ambassadors and Bear Hands. The band also earned 3.6 million steams on Spotify alone for their single “Giants” which was also featured in the Netflix documentary I Am Not Your Guru, about Tony Robbins.

Savoir Adore are Paul Hammer, the band’s songwriter and main vocalist, singer Lauren Zettler, with Alex Foote on guitar, Bryan Bisordi on drums, and Andrew Pertes on bass.
