Listen: Savannah Sgro’s “Phobia”

by W. Andrew Powell
Savannah Sgro

“Phobia” is a gorgeous, tender, and vulnerable song that’s charming and catchy, and it’s a real heartbreaker. Singer Savannah Sgro puts her heart on her sleeve in “Phobia” with lyrics that feel deeply personal.

Everyone has been there at some point, and the lyrics cut deep. “There’s a lot of things that I ain’t afraid of, only fear I have is one day you’ll wake up / And you’ll get sick of me, and I won’t be what you need.”

Originally hailing from Las Vegas, Sgro studied music at Berklee College of Music before packing up and moving to Nashville to pursue her music dream.

The singer and songwriter grew up playing piano, which she picked up by ear, and counts Lori McKenna and Julia Michaels as her biggest influences.
