What a single. Toronto singer and songwriter lemin’s soulful “My Body” is a revelation. The track is utterly gorgeous, and lemin’s vocals soar into a sorrowful, and yet uplifting finale that is moving and magical.

Talking about her EP, hold A: act 2 from last fall, lemin said, “This project is really my first baby–all of the songs I wrote and/or produced in my studio apartment in Toronto… I called the project hold A because in Mario Kart you ‘hold A to accelerate’, and that’s what making this project felt like for me: accelerating into who I am, into loving myself, and into all that I am capable of.”

Working with producer Michael Malih, lemin produced and recorded hold A in a number of studios, including Engine Room in New York, and G.O.O.D. Music (No Name) studios in LA. The EP was then mixed by Jason Agel, and mastered by Dave Kutch (DK), best known for his work with Charlie Puth’s Voicenotes, Solange’s A Seat at the Table, and The Weeknd’s Beauty Behind the Madness, to name a few.
