Shemy’s “Could Be Worse” is the right song for today, and it’s not just positive and uplifting, it’s got the vibe we could all use when things seem bad.

Nicholas Shemes is Shemy, the Flint, MI artist behind the song, and the single follows his 2019 album Before I Turn 30. It’s a track that crosses genres, and he says, means a lot right now especially.

“Everything in life feels so off beat right now,” Shemes said. “I know for some it’s hard to stay positive and maintain optimism in what seems like our new normal.”

“I made ‘Could Be Worse’ to remind everyone to live in the moment and find happiness in the little things. Now is the perfect time to share it with you all and I hope it makes you smile or provokes some sort of positive feeling inside of you.”

In 2015, Shemy released his song “Home” about the Flint Water Crisis. Produced by G-Unit Record’s Bandplay, the single got national media attention, including from Michael Moore and CNN’s Chris Cuomo.

His most recent single, “Cobra Kai”, featuring Rittz, earned over 100,000 streams.
