If you were looking for a low-key rebellion song, Jack Pine and The Fire’s “Rich in Time” is the perfect track for some inspiration.

“Do what you love and you’ll always be ‘Rich In Time’!”

The song is a folk and country anthem for anyone tired of their day job, and wishing they could do their own thing. The track feels hearty, honest, and lead singer Gareth Auden-Hole has a voice that draws you down the road with him.

“Rich in Time” sounds exactly like what it’s preaching; an earnest need to take a moment, live in the now, and enjoy life.

From Ottawa, the alt-folk-Canadiana string band includes singer, songwriter and producer Auden-Hole, with band members Martin Newman (bass), Mike Essoudry (drums), Stuart Rutherford (drobo), and Anders Drerup (guitars).

Jack Pine and The Fire second album, Left To Our Own Devices, was written on a tiny northern Ontario island and went on to earn them a Juno nomination, and a nomination at the Canadian Folk Music Awards.
