Stables’ “Marathon” is giving me life right now, and it might just be the perfect Monday song.

The indie-folk track is the band’s second release from their upcoming album, Silhouettes, and it’s a fun, folksy, mix of soft vocals with a beat that’s catchy and addictive.

And the video is frankly perfect, with footage from the 1988 London Marathon that the band found in the family shed.

Matthew Lowe and Daniel Trenholme are the duo behind Stables, and they’ve been adapting their sound since they came together in 2015, with their latest releases mixing in a new electronic edge.

“I always wanted to create a simple sound that could then be taken further when needed, from a small folk club, to a large festival stage,” Lowe said of the band’s style.

The band is planning to release 12 singles in 12 months. Check out their latest, “Summer” and watch the video for “Marathon” below. Follow Stables on their website, plus YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
