“Oh no” by Blanks | New music

by W. Andrew Powell

December is around the corner, and somehow Blanks’ new single “oh no” is making me feel like it’s summer, walking down the street in LA with the sun shining and the breeze blowing through palm trees.

The song is wonderfully light, airy, and I love the beat that drives the song, giving the track a fun sense of pace, and passion. The video is also down-to-earth, and a great example of why the talented YouTuber has such a big following.

Blanks has also been busy this year, despite the pandemic, releasing a new EP, cheap sodas and ice cream kisses, remaking Billie Eilish’s “Therefore I Am”, on top of a lot of other content for his channels.

He also has some great advice, especially this year. For his single “Silly People”, he talked a bit about finding meaning in life. “The funny thing is, though, these people seem to search in all the wrong places. They fill the void with meaningless experiences, something I recognise in myself too… We want immediate gratification, without having to work or wait for it. In the midst of living, we seem to forget how to actually enjoy it.”
