The best whisky advent calendar to count down December | Available now at the LCBO

For the whisky lover in your life, have I got a great early gift idea for you. For the second year in a row, Drinks by the Dram and That Boutique-Y Whisky Company teamed up for a Whisky Holiday Calendar, and it’s available now at the LCBO in Ontario.

Every day, bring a little whisky love to that someone in your life, with 24 drams of the world’s best whiskies. Each 30ml dram of whisky is sealed with wax, and the unique packaging, that looks like a graphic novel, pokes fun at whisky industry in-jokes and puns.

Among the 24 whiskies are a wide range of styles and types. There are peated and unpeated single malts, Scotch, and highlights include samples of Heaven Hill 9 Year Old, and the World Whisky Blend.

And there really is nothing else like it for the holidays. It’s a unique gift and while it’s best given early, I don’t think any whisky lover will have a problem receiving it late, either. You can literally enjoy this calendar any time of year, but the packaging is definitely all about the holidays.

This is my second year enjoying the special advent-style calendar, and it’s a perfect treat after supper, settling in for a break from the day, and a dram of something special. I also love that every day is a surprise, since you never know what the next whisky will be, and it’s given me a chance to try some incredible whiskies from all over.
