The skating trail at Arrowhead Provincial Park should be one of your bucket list travel plans this winter. There is really nothing like skating through the forest, and on special Fire and Ice nights at the park, you can skate under the stars, with the trail lit by torches.
Ontario
Ontario is an incredible province, and it’s a huge place to explore. The fourth-largest province has dozens of interesting towns and cities, and includes the Canadian Shield, touches on the Hudson Bay to the north, the Great Lakes to the South, and it’s filled with stunning natural spaces.
This Friday, June 11, Ontario will take the first step to reopening the province as more than 60% of adults have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. It’s an important step that opens up a lot of opportunities for Ontarions, including some options for travel within the province.
There is nothing like looking up at the night sky, and seeing all the stars. It’s an awe-inspiring view, especially for those of us living in the city, and it’s not always a view we can enjoy because of light pollution.
What did you expect this year? Not this, I imagine, and if you were planning a holiday, there’s certainly some good news ahead, but there’s also a new reality we need to embrace.
Ontario Parks offer some of the best outdoor experiences in the province, and I can’t get enough of them, especially in the summer. My wife and I have stayed at most of the parks in southern Ontario, and one favourite is Bon Echo Provincial Park.
Aerial game trekking might be the most challenging thing I’ve tried in a long time, and it’s like nothing else. Imagine an obstacle course in the treetops, and you’ve got the general idea. It’s a lot of fun, and on the perfect fall weekend, it’s the perfect reason to get out into Ontario’s back yard.
There is nothing as good for the soul as travel, if you ask me, and this year I’m already excited about a few family trips we’ve been planning.
Where do you go to enjoy winter for a weekend? I took my family to Gravenhurst and it was like stepping into a winter wonderland.
The 2018 Mini Cooper Countryman ALL4 is like nothing else on the road. The Mini Countryman is a joy to drive, and it’s a beautiful car with a comfortable, roomy interior, and a surprising amount of space.
