Comedian and host Adam Growe will return once again this year behind the wheel of Discovery Canada’s Cash Cab for the game show’s 8th year, but the genial star has some other plans that are also keeping him busy, and may point to his next hosting career.

Debuting in 2008, Growe has earned a name for himself across Canada thanks to Cash Cab, which lets unwitting passengers try to earn cash as they , with a little basic trivia. On top of the popular series, Growe is also busy doing standup, which has taken him across Canada and the United States, and now he’s got another interesting project that blends his talents and passions together: The Adam Growe Quiz Show.

Blending stand-up, a late-show format, with a live quiz show that can earn audience members cash, Growe’s stage event is headed to the Randolph Theatre in Toronto this Saturday, June 8, and it hints at what could be an even greater calling for the television host.

While Growe first plans to take The Adam Growe Quiz Show on the road, the entire format makes me wonder if we could start seeing him involved with another television show in Canada some day.

During my interview with Growe, we talked about the possibility of moving from a stage show to a televised late-show, since Canada has been sadly lacking in this department for years. Watch the video interview to see what he had to say about the idea, and what it means to be a celebrity in Canada.

The Adam Growe Quiz Show at the Randolph Theatre will feature singer Stacey Kaniuk, comedians Laurie Elliott and Pete Zedlacher, plus sports host Jeff O’Neill.
