Alona Tal, Johnny Ray Gill, Isaiah Mustafa, and Samantha Walkes Talk CROSS Season 2

by Andrew Parker

Based on the bestselling series of novels by James Patterson, the second season of Cross (with the first three instalments now streaming on Prime Video, and new episodes dropping weekly), subtitled “Bitter Fruit,” picks up where the first instalment left off.

Having cleared his name and still reeling over the loss of his wife, ace forensic psychologist Alex Cross (played by Aldis Hodge) is teamed up with FBI agent Kayla Craig (Alona Tal) to investigate a string homicides involving well connected billionaires. It seems as if the latest target for the killer (Jeanine Mason) and her accomplice (Wes Chatham) is a hybrid agriculture and tech magnate (Matthew Lillard) with a lot of skeletons in his closet. While Cross attempts to unravel the righteous motives of the killer and the dirty dealings of the person he has been assigned to protect, Agent Craig finds herself caught up in a larger criminal conspiracy outside of the case, forcing her to turn to the currently incarcerated, still wildly unhinged Bobby Trey (Johnny Ray Gill) for some off-the-books and outside-the-lines assistance. Meanwhile, Cross’ partner at work, John Sampson (Isaiah Mustafa), finds his world rocked by a separate case involving a face from his past, while Alex’s romantic interest, Elle Monteiro (Samantha Walkes), tries to figure out what he wants from a relationship.

We got a chance to speak with Isaiah Mustafa, Samantha Walkes, Alona Tal, and Johnny Ray Miller about the new season of Cross and learning more about the characters in and around Alex Cross.
