Get your cameras ready, Canada. This Saturday, September 10, CTV is asking Canadians around the world to film a part of their lives and share it for a special television event: Canada In A Day. The two-hour special will air in 2017 to celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary, with the goal of answering four big questions, including the big one: what does Canada mean to you?
CTV’s procedural drama, Motive, experienced a changing of the guard in season four. Warren Christie’s Sergeant Mark Cross disappeared, while Victor Zinck Jr. joined the series’ homicide team as Detective Mitch Kennecki. The son of District Commander Walter Kennecki, Mitch’s cocky attitude and brash work demeanour initially rubbed Detective Angie Flynn [Kristin Lehman] the wrong way. He’s been missing in action lately, but Mitch Kennecki returns in a major way in August 23’s “Chronology of Pain” and for the series finale, “We’ll Always Have Homicide”, on August 30.
Writer Orson Scott Card is working on the new sci-fi television series, Extinct, and actor Chad Michael Collins will star in the upcoming pilot for BYUtv. In the series, a small group of humans try to survive after aliens have effectively wiped out humanity.
Mike Holmes is a bit of a legend. He’s the renovation expert who has been fixing people’s dilapidated and troubled homes for sixteen years, and over his career he’s starred in numerous shows that showed off what he’s done for people. In the second season of Fox’s Home Free, his role is the teacher, as he helps eleven competitors learn the fundamentals of construction while giving away a home to their personal heroes.
Terry Brooks was one of the first authors I read as a teenager, and between Magic Kingdom for Sale–Sold! and The Sword of Shannara, he helped hook me on fantasy. Flash forward a couple of decades and Brooks is a hugely successful best-selling author and an executive producer behind the adaptation of his series, MTV’s The Shannara Chronicles.
