Singer and songwriter Matt Nathanson is a hilarious guy. During a show where fans had to win their way in to attend, he had the ladies in the audience eating out of his hands. Beyond that though, he’s a genuine talent, and someone who obviously loves what he does.
While I went into the performance expecting good things, his enthusiasm and stage presence won me over more than I expected. At on point, during his song “Princess”, he broke into Rick Springfield’s “Jessie’s Girl”, just because. He also jokingly dove into a version of “Love Story” by Taylor Swift because he has a crush on her ever since she sang with Def Leppard.
“I don’t care what she does. She could kick children,” he joked. “That’s what love is everybody, for those who don’t know. Someone who kicks children and you don’t care.”
