Classic stories and the spirit of adventure come to life this December as the Disney Treasure sets sail for it’s inaugural cruise, and there are a lot of things that I’m excited to see and experience on board.
Departing from Port Canaveral, Florida on December 21, 2024, the Treasure will have new bars and restaurants, a new stage show, alongside characters on 7-night itineraries exploring the Caribbean.
Disney Cruise Line offers the best experiences for families, with some of the best theming of any cruise company, and the Treasure builds on that in a number of fun new ways.
Here are some of the biggest reasons that I’m looking forward to getting on board the Disney Treasure.
A fiesta at Plaza de Coco

Coco is one of my favourite films, so I’m really excited to sit down for a meal with Miguel and his family at the plaza of Santa Cecilia.
The theatrical dining experience will feature Miguel and his mariachi performers with music, dancing, and a Mexican-influenced meal. And that’s just the first night. On the second night, the plaza will be transformed for a Dia de los Muertos celebration, and a few special characters from the film will stop by, including Mamá Coco and Abuelita.
Disney’s themed dining also includes Worlds of Marvel, with one night inspired by Guardians of the Galaxy, and on the second night Spider-Man will be there to meet guests.
Three unique bars inspired by Disney

The Haunted Mansion is one of my family’s favourite rides at Walt Disney World and Disneyland, so I’m excited for the chance to sit down and have a drink with some spirits onboard the Treasure at the Haunted Mansion Parlor.
Disney cruises are a blast for families, but they all have fantastic experiences for adults.
From the wallpaper to the furniture, drinks, and moody atmosphere, the Haunted Mansion Parlor is going to be the perfect spot to have a drink after a fun day of excursions and sun.
The Treasure will also feature the Periscope Pub, inspired by 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, and Skipper Society, inspired by Jungle Cruise. All three lounge spaces look like classy and iconic, and I can’t wait to try some of the themed cocktails.
Set sail with Moana

Disney has excellent entertainment on board all of their ships, with Broadway-style musicals, like Beauty and the Beast, and Disney Seas the Adventure. With the launch of the Treasure, The Tale of Moana will debut on board the ship, inspired by Disney’s hit, Moana.
My family and I are big fans, and we’re excited to see what they do with the story and music. Beauty and the Beast is considered one of Disney’s best musicals on the ships right now, and I expect The Tale of Moana is going to be another hit.
And I can’t wait to see how they bring Tamatoa, Te Fiti, and Hei Hei to the stage.
Curse of the Golden Egg

On the Disney Wish, the Treasure’s sister ship, you’ll find AquaMouse, and now the Treasure is set to launch AquaMouse: Curse of the Golden Egg.
Part water slide, part roller coaster, you’ll ride on a raft and follow an adventure with Mickey and Minnie and a mysterious temple. You’ll get splashed and enjoy a bird’s eye view of the ship and the ocean below.
I love the AquaDuck on the Disney Dream, and I love a good water ride, so I can’t wait to try this out on a day at sea.
Stories and adventures around every corner

I’m excited about everything we can expect from the Treasure, but my favourite part of Disney cruise ships is all of the hidden details, the little touches, and everything that makes it unique. It’s really all about the theme, and it looks like the Disney Treasure will have lots to discover.
In the atrium you’ll find an iconic statue of Aladdin and Jasmine, while the stern features Peter Pan and Captain Hook. The Treasure is also the first Disney ship to have it’s own signature song, “Live the Adventure.”
For anyone who books the Tomorrow Tower Suite on board, they’ll find lots of details, including Figment, hiding around the suite, and a spiral staircase that pay tribute to Spaceship Earth in EPCOT.
And everything that already makes Disney cruises amazing

Okay, there’s one more simple reason that the Treasure is going to be a lot of fun: the new ship includes a lot of the best things about other Disney Cruises, too.
All of the new things are exciting on the Treasure, but I’m also excited about classic Disney Cruise activities like pirate night, visiting Castaway Cay, the characters, excursions, and everything else.
Edge, Vibe, and the Imagineering Lab, plus Star Wars: Cargo Bay all give kids of all ages something fun to do. As any parent will tell you, kids love the clubs so much, it’s usually hard to get them to leave when it’s time for dinner.
Adults will enjoy the chance to take it easy on deck, watch a movie in the theatre, take a swim in Quiet Cove Pool, or enjoy a coffee. The ships also always host amazing activities that you can book, like cocktail classes or whisky tastings.
And the adults will also appreciate massages at Senses Spa, planning a romantic dinner at Palo Steakhous, or going shopping onboard.
