Swiped video review | Lily James as Whitney Wolfe Herd

by W. Andrew Powell

Swiped stars Lily James as Whitney Wolfe Herd, based on the real story of the marketing executive who helped make Tinder a success, but was forced out of the company because of sexist behaviour. She would go on to develop and lead Bumble, and her story is fascinating.

The film has a messy approach to the story, so Swiped feels both intriguing and frustrating, but it’s also a reminder about the need for more women leading in the tech sector. Watch my full review above.

Swiped is streaming now on Disney+ in Canada and Hulu in the U.S.
