You’ve got to love all the films that descend upon Toronto and end up transforming the scenes into whole other cities. Take Chicago for example – the film which was shot here to resemble, well, Chicago.
Well, speaking of musicals, the film Hairspray (by director Adam Shankman) is currently on the loose in Toronto and one of the big outdoor sets is basically up the street from me. Quite amusing to see them working on the area and transforming it into a 1960s American street corner. (Apparently us locals can also expect to see John Travolta wandering around soon for his scenes.)

where in Toronto exactly are these pictures from? It’s very interesting to see our city so transformed!
It’s was the corner of Roncesvalles and Dundas, out near Dundas West subway station.
