Listen: DYLYN’s “Wolf” from her album ‘Sauvignon and a Kimono’

Toronto singer and songwriter DYLYN released her new single “Wolf” in January, and it’s an 80s-synth jolt of rock attitude that’s already landed on Spotify Canada’s Viral Hits list.

“Wolf” smolders with singer Gwendolyn Lewis’ smoky vocals, and the beat is a cross between the rock hits of the 80s, and pure, electric synth-pop. That suits the song just right, doubling down on the attitude that Lewis brings to life. She wrote the track after a bad breakup, and that seems obvious when you hear how she channels all her power into each line, like it’s an anthem for moving on, and changing her life.

“Lonely, I’m trouble. Queen of, the jungle.”

“It was as if the universe was telling me to rebel and revert to autopilot,” Lewis said about writing the track. “Shutting my feelings off for a little while was a much easier way to live–misery loves a hot guy.”

DYLYN’s new album, Sauvignon and a Kimono, arrives on February 23rd. Follow her on Facebook.
