Listen: Hollow Twin’s haunting cover of “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper”

Hollow Twin

Vancouver’s Hollow Twin are Emmalee Watts and Rebecca Wosk, a folk rock duo with a love of classic music, and it shows in their mesmerizing, cinematic cover of Blue Oyster Cult’s “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper”.

The cover is a slowed-down, haunting, and utterly beautiful reimagining of one of my all-time favorite songs, and the vocals are captivating.

Produced and engineered by Ryan Worsely at Echoplant Studios, the track is perfect, and it sounds like it could have come right out of a scene in a movie.

Hollow Twin have been collaborating since 2012, and since then they’ve opened for acts like Repartee, The Darcy’s, Miss Quincy, and Skye Wallace. They also worked with producers Winston Hauschild and Nygel Asselin.
